<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Just to expand upon...I pers don't see anything wrong w this, IF it's done to create musical tension / forward momentum / crescendatic ["new" word of mine] excitement, & understood musically thusly by the players. A notch or 2, in SOME cases PERHAPS 3, on the 'nome isn't a big deal when this is sought. However, any/much more & it might be a little too rushing, & care needs to be taken to control the 'crescendo,' AOT letting it take control of the band. & then sometimes 3 might be a little too much, depending...on Long Train Running the tempo changed in some sections and was actually a few clicks faster at the end. That may be OK with some people.
However, on another angle, when the groove itself starts dictating the arrangement & players as a collective unit, given they all have a great sense of time [both click & w/out-natural], then you've hit 1 solid aspect of momentary muiscal "zen"...a very "mystically" enjoyable & much sought after high...
